New Master Water Dog Provisional Program
The PWDCA Water Committee is pleased to introduce the Master Water Dog Provisional Program. Approved after PWDCA Board revision, this is the advanced level program that will be used for the next 2 years. Barring any changes, the Master Water Dog level will become a full titling level in 2019.
The program description and exercises can be found on the Water Work page on the PWDCA website. The Water Trial Manual will be updated with these new exercises in the next few weeks.
Hexagonal Plastic Dummies
It has been seen that more and more participants are using hexagonal plastic dummies. Per the manual, these dummies don’t meet the requirement that the dummy be “cylindrical.” Some judges have allowed these dummies while others have not. The committee discussed this issue and decided that the dummies are so similar to the plastic cylindrical dummies that we would approve their use in water trials.
The water trail manual will be revised. Page 32: “A one-piece commercial retrieving dummy made of canvas, neoprene or plastic material that is cylindrical or hexagonal and uniform in shape throughout its length, with diameter of 2” to 4” and a length of 8” to 15”. A line no longer than 18” may be attached to facilitate throwing.”
Please let the Water Trial Committee know if you have any questions.
